We are on a journey, a journey to discover what makes the perfect venue for a corporate event.
During this journey we will be visiting as many different venues as we can, to find out what makes them tick & what makes them stand out to be the perfect venue.
We’ve started our journey in the Southeast of England, why? Because there is a trend happening, a trend that is taking ‘Events Beyond London’, clients are looking for venues that have more outdoor space, are more unique & are outside of the M25, but within easy travelling distance.
We already know many amazing venues in the Southeast & we will be covering them in our blogs over the coming weeks & months, but we wanted to start with a venue we recently visited & added to our preferred venue list.
Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club
Surrounded by the Ashdown Forest, which according to the famous children’s author, A. A. Milne, is the woodland that inspired his Winnie The Pooh stories, the Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club offers the heights of luxury in the heart of East Sussex.
On arriving at Ashdown Park, our first reaction was wow, the main building, built in the 19th century, looked grand yet comfortable in its lush surroundings. I was excited to see inside to discover if the interior matched the exterior of the building & it did.
With a variety of different sized meeting rooms & a unique main function room with space for up to 170 delegates, it has great resources for away days, meetings, training, conferences & its 186 acres lends itself to a great range of team building activities.
There are 106 bedrooms & behind every door no two rooms or suites are alike. Each one has been decorated & furnished to offer the heights of luxury with their individual characteristics being enhanced with period pieces & furnishings. The choice of accommodation is outstanding, with 9 categories to choose from, to appeal to different tastes & budgets.
With all its beauty & great facilities, Ashdown Park certainly lends its self to an impressive setting for a corporate event.
One thing we have learnt over the years is that no matter how amazing a venue is, if the team inside aren’t very good & the service you receive isn’t top quality, then the whole experience is ruined.
Well at Ashdown Park the team certainly don’t let the side down, from check in, to the concierge, to the waiting staff & the events team, the service we received as certainly superior, it was friendly & helpful, we felt very welcome & nothing was too much trouble
The dining experience was also superior, the 2 AA Rosette Anderida Restaurant, is well known locally as being one of the best restaurants in East Grinstead and the surrounding areas, the food was fantastic, every mouthful enjoyable, but if you prefer something a little more low key the Fairway lounge in the country club, a short stroll from the main house, serves a bistro style menu, in a light & airy atmosphere overlooking the golf course.
Our overall opinion?
The main manor house is stunning, the facilities superb, the food mouth-watering & the team outstanding & we will certainly recommend it to our clients.
