How to guarantee bums in seats at your event

Updated: Jun 9, 2019

Hosting a great event is very important & you really need to pay attention to every detail, to make sure that the event is a huge success.

But no matter how great the event, no matter how memorable, amazing & fun it is going to be, none of that matters if you don’t have anyone turn up.

It is vital that you promote your event properly, invite the right people, advertise it in the right places & to the right people.

This blog will give you 5 of the most important things to action to make sure your event is promoted properly.

Be very clear about who your target audience is.

We spend a lot of our time in our businesses, determining who wants what we have to offer. Who would be helped by what we are selling, or the services we have to offer. For your event you need to be very clear of who these people are. Draw up an ideal client avatar & focus on where you will find them.

Start talking about your event well in advance.

Talk to people you meet out networking or at other events, on line on all of your social media platforms & on your website. Build a buzz so that when you release the details people can’t wait to book on.

Get speaking slots at other events or networking meetings.

Speaking about your business & what you do, really gets your target audience interested in you & also shows you as knowledgeable in your field. You can give people a taster of what

you can offer them & how you may be able to help them. Once they get a taste of you, they will be more interested in what you have to offer.

Make sure you use Social Media well.

Social media is such a powerful tool for promoting your event & allows potential attendees to find out more about you. Don’t just advertise your event on Social Media, create a buzz about it pre event & continue it going during the event. Tweet often about your event, with little tasters for what you event will include, create your own event hashtag & get people using it. Share it on Facebook and talk to people in your groups about it & get them to share the details with their friends.

Send out a personal invite to your email list.

Clients who you already have worked with or those who have previously shown interest in you & your business. Try to make the email as personal as possible, with a few tasters of what they will find beneficial at the event.

By following these actions, promoting the event well, creating a real buzz about it & getting everyone talking, you will ensure that you have plenty of people turn up.
